On a recent LJ entry, I bewailed the fact that I would lose most of my beloved icons when I gave up paid account status on LJ. (I refuse to give them more of my money in the wake of Strikethrough and Strikethrough II.)
pforte wisely pointed out that I could use my icons here even with free account status. Thank you, pforte.

Yes, I'm establishing my IJ account just in case I decide to dump LJ (or LJ decides to dump me).
